Heathrow hotels by terminal

Checked 30 October 2026 13 sources

Heathrow hotels range from rooms inside a terminal to bigger hotels a short bus ride away. Here's how our Heathrow stays line up, terminal by terminal, using only what Heathrow and the hotels themselves say – checked on 30 October 2026.

Heathrow's terminals in brief

Heathrow's own transfer guide talks about Heathrow's four terminals – Terminals 2, 3, 4 and 5 – and its free travel map shows those four, so don't go looking for a Terminal 1.

A few things are worth knowing whichever hotel you pick:

  • All of ours are landside. Heathrow says No1 Bedrooms, in the Terminal 3 No. 1 Lounge after security, is its only airside hotel, so with any of the stays below you go through security in the terminal as normal.
  • Moving between terminals is free on the routes on Heathrow's free travel map: the Piccadilly line, the Elizabeth line and Heathrow Express trains, and the H30 bus. You need Oyster or contactless to open the station gates, or you can collect a free train transfer ticket for the trains.
  • Hotel Hoppa is Heathrow's paid hotel bus. Heathrow says it runs between 04:00 and 00:00 from Terminal 2 (stops 9–10), Terminal 3 (stops 12–13) and Terminal 5 (stops 17–18), and that it doesn't currently serve the Terminal 4 forecourt. Tickets are sold by the driver, online and in the app.

Terminals 2 and 3

Terminals 2 and 3 share one rail and tube station, Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3, and Heathrow says the Central Bus Station is a short walk from both.

Aerotel London Heathrow Airport

Aerotel bills itself as "The Only In-Terminal Hotel Located in Terminal 3 Arrivals". Heathrow lists Aerotel as its hotel for Terminals 2 and 3: in Terminal 3 Arrivals, with Terminal 2 a short walk away. For Terminal 2, Heathrow says to walk through the pedestrian tunnel via Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3 station.

Aerotel describes itself as "Landside | Outside Restricted Area", inside the Terminal 3 Arrivals Hall and within walking distance of Terminal 2 and Heathrow Express. It also says it is just a few steps from the Terminal 3 check-in desks, and on its own website it offers flexible hourly booking as well as overnight stays.

Hilton Garden Inn London Heathrow Terminals 2 and 3

The hotel's owner and operator, Arora Group, calls it the only hotel with direct access to Heathrow Terminal 2. Hilton's page for the hotel says it is connected to Terminal 2 via a covered walkway, with access to Terminal 3 by a pedestrian underpass.

Novotel London Heathrow Airport T1 T2 and T3

The name points to the central terminals, but we couldn't confirm on the hotel's own website how it links to them when we checked (30 October 2026), and it isn't one of the hotels on Heathrow's Hotel Hoppa list. Ask the hotel how to reach your terminal – and how long to allow – before you book.

Terminal 5

Sofitel London Heathrow

Heathrow says the Sofitel is linked directly to Terminal 5 by a covered walkway. The hotel itself says the walkway gets you to the terminal in under five minutes, and Arora Group describes it as the only hotel directly connected to Heathrow Terminal 5.

Hilton London Heathrow Airport Terminal 5

Despite the name, this one isn't at the terminal. Hilton gives its address as Poyle Road, Colnbrook, and Heathrow's Hotel Hoppa list shows "Hilton Heathrow, T5" on route H5H, which you catch from Terminal 5 at stops 17 and 18. Allow time for the bus and check the Hotel Hoppa times before an early flight.

Flying from Terminal 4?

None of our Heathrow stays is at Terminal 4. Heathrow names the Hilton as its Terminal 4 hotel, linked by a covered walkway. From the other terminals, Heathrow's free travel map shows the free H30 bus running every 20 minutes between Terminals 4 and 5, and Hotel Hoppa doesn't currently serve the Terminal 4 forecourt.

Coming from central London

Staying in town the night before? From St Pancras, Network Rail says there's a direct Piccadilly line journey to Heathrow of under an hour, and that the quickest transfer is the Heathrow Express from London Paddington. Our guide to sleeping near King's Cross, St Pancras and Euston covers the stations end.

Parking and local tips

Driving to the airport? Heathrow sells hotel and parking packages where you stay overnight and add Park & Ride or Meet & Greet parking. For a wider look at parking options, our sister site What Airport Parking is an airport parking guide, and our sister site London Heathrow Friendly Spots covers places at and around Heathrow. Both are independent and not run by Heathrow.

Before you book

  • Check which terminal your airline uses before you choose a hotel – a walkway is only handy if it leads to your terminal.
  • If you arrive without a room, Heathrow has hotel reservation desks in the arrivals area of every terminal.
  • Bus routes and timetables can change, so check the latest Hotel Hoppa details close to your flight.
